I enjoyed this dual-timeline story, but I wasnโ€™t prepared for the emotional journey that this was.

Nita was a young mother when she left India and her family to run to Paris – to chase her dreams of becoming an artist.

Sophie was only six when her father told her that her mother had died. Now, at age twenty-two, when her beloved father passes away, Sophie finds letters that reveal her mother, Nita, did not die all those years ago – she chose to leave for Paris. Sophie is determined to find her mother. But the journey will be more than she could ever imagine.

I love reading moving womenโ€™s fiction like this. It takes the heart on a heart-breaking exploration of family bonds, motherhood, and self-discovery. Although it deals with several serious issues like addiction, betrayal, grief, and loss, it has an air of hopefulness.

Thank you @suzyapprovedbooktours and @lakeunionauthors for a spot on tour and a gifted book.
