Ugh with an opening line like that, I knew I was in for a tear-jerker!
I love books that involve time travel or time slips, and Sarah Jost does a great job of making each โchanceโ different enough from the one before to keep it interesting and full of new emotions. In fact, I appreciated how we see Lou grow and develop with each chance. So give her a chance too; sheโs learning.
Lou is lonely (see first line above); sheโs not satisfied with where sheโs at in life, and she is tired of watching others be happy and in love. I think itโs made her a little bitter, resentful maybe? When she finds herself slipping back in time to two years ago – Lou is given an opportunity to change her life, fix mistakes, possibly save a life, and maybe have a chance at love.
I felt all the emotions along with Lou; this was an emotional one for sure (prepare to grieve a little), but it tackles the question of do-overs and fighting for what you love very well. ๐ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐๐๐ฌ is a story that will have me pondering things for quite a while.
