I love books that capture a snapshot of life and how things can readily change. ๐ƒ๐š๐ฎ๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐š ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ž does just that as it follows Betsabรฉ โ€œBetsโ€ Ruiz in her new high powered Wall Street job right out of college.

The story, a loose retelling of the Bible story of David and Bathsheba, is written as a letter to Betsabรฉโ€™s unborn son. She tells of her journey of hard work, family heritage, and a complicated love affair with her boss.

Although the pace was unhurried, the author masterfully included several elements that kept it intriguing and exciting. Betsโ€™ forbidden romance, office politics, the Covid pandemic, pregnancy, loss, and friendships are integral to her growth and maturity.

I paired my reading with the gifted audiobook from @librofm, and it helped me connect to Bets even more.

Thank you @suzyapprovedbooktours and @jeanneblasberg for a spot on tour and a gifted book.
