Do you have a neighbor that mows the lawn bright and early in the morning? Well, Hillary does, and she has no problem yelling at Liam about it. However, why does he have to look so good cutting grass shirtless? 

Hillary and Liam are both a bit grumpy and they love to snark at each other – probably because they are suppressing their attraction to one another. She can’t escape from him either because she needs Mr. Handyman to do some roof repairs.

Hillary is also feeling down for turning thirty and being single, so she jumps on the bandwagon of the popular dating app. She connects with a guy and starts chatting with Mr. Hottie. As the snark is heating up between her and Liam, and dating details are being planned between her and Mr. Hottie – Hillary sends the wrong text to the wrong man.

I loved that we could call this a grumps-to-lovers romance. And really, Liam was a great guy – a true gentleman. Secondary characters such as the moms and Hillary’s roommates added good depth as well. This is a clean romance, but it’s flirty and fun, with a southern flair.

The title really lived up to its name! This was such a fun romance.

Not only is Rebecca an unrestrained, sassy character whom I loved, but she’s the black sheep of her family, to which I can relate.

She works as a social media consultant but she has her heart set on a career in music. So she tries out to be on a reality singing show. 

Enter Ian Ledger; he just got told by his girlfriend they need to take a break; she feels Ian is too… uptight. Funny, that is exactly what Rebecca called him when they first met on the bus. And then again, when he shows up at Rebecca’s workplace, as Ian is the sensitivity trainer sent in by corporate. 

The banter between these two opposites is witty, and yep, you guessed it, f-u-n. But the tables turn when they both need something from each other.  From there, an extreme dislike for one another blossoms into a friendship and then something more. 

Rebecca and Ian are adorable together. With loveable and diverse side characters, some crazy antics, and even some lessons in disappointment, this one is “all that and a bag of chips.”

And it is on. Only somewhere between all the sniping and harmless hijinks, a reluctant friendship develops, along with an unexpected spark of sexual tension. It might have to do with the fact that she’s been dating Jude-lookalikes and he’s been dating Molly doppelgangers. Or the fact that neither of them is nearly as horrible as they thought. All Molly and Jude know is that they’ve mastered the art of hating each other. Falling in love, on the other hand, is a whole new battlefield.

I love enemies to lovers and it’s kind of fun that Molly and Jude grew up “hating” on each other. I did find their antics and pranks to be a little childish though, but maybe they were just harkening back to their childhood days. 

The author did bring in some great secondary characters as well as developing Molly’s work struggles which helped to lift up the plot. And of course, any time Beatles’ songs are referenced – I’m a happy camper! This is a quirky romance, but I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.

I really enjoyed this workplace, enemies-to-lovers romance. It may be slow-paced for some, but their careers do take center stage as two jilted journalists find their way back to each other. 

Harper Jenkins is a little jaded about love since a bad breakup, but since then, she has focused on work as a journalist. She is shocked when Ryan Jansson joins their team. That Ryan, her Ryan, the one who betrayed her. 

Now she must work with him and yeah, compete with him for pieces from her jerk of a boss. 

After being a little patient for the story to unfold, I loved Harper and Ryan together. They had great banter and bickering – picking on each other at first over the slightest things – like who moved a pen off a desk. But then the old spark reunited, and it was great that Ryan fell first. But Harper does not want to get burned again and lose everything she has worked so hard for.

When Leo slips and calls Nina “Nasty Nina” on air, she’s had enough and quits the show. But when the paparazzi catch Leo and Nina in an awkward position later – looking like they were kissing – social media blows up. Nina’s PR guy says it might be good for business if Nina actually dates Leo for a while.

This one was definitely binge-worthy:

🧁 Foodie Heaven – Food show, L.A. food scene, cooking, food sampling, food everywhere!

🧁 Enemies-to-lovers, and let me tell you, Nina and Leo were pretty nasty to one another to begin with.

🧁 Fake Dating – all done for the sake of “business.” 

🧁 Strong female friendship – Nina, her best friend, and her sister were women who spoke their minds but also had a lot of fun too!

🧁 Mental Health Awareness – Leo comes off like quite a jerk, but he slowly lets on that he struggles with anxiety.

🧁 Steamy – I’m going to leave that right there.
