Only days away from her college graduation, Nicole is sexually assaulted just outside her college dorm.ย
Nicole did not appear to recognize her attacker, but we, the readers, are privy to the fact that he knew her.
Nicole is determined to move on from this by not telling anyone or going to the police. But the trauma settles in and takes hold of Nicole; it follows her into every new situation and all her relationships.
Although heartbreaking at times, the story is overall a survivorโs story. Nicole presses onward, finding strength and even hoping to find love. But the question remainsโwho attacked her that night and why? Itโs that which brings an aura of intrigue to the story.
Nicoleโs sister Jamie, along with their mother, play roles in this storyโmore so to add a family dimension, but it allows for this story to be woman-centered and focused on women empowerment.
